Georgia Lawsuit Loans for Mass Tort, Abuse & Complex Cases
Georgia lawsuit loans serve people whose case is filed and in a lawyer’s hands, or being settled.
Plaintiffs here can be advanced $500 to $250,000+ on non-recourse terms. A lost case means nothing is repaid.
Apply on this page, or reach our office at 888-335-3537. We take care of the paperwork with your lawyer.
Georgia’s 2025 Lawsuit Funding Law
Georgia passed its first law on lawsuit funding in 2025. Most of it took effect on January 1, 2026.
| State law | A consumer protection law signed April 21, 2025. A 2026 law added yearly renewal and background checks. |
| Rate cap | No rate cap. A funder can’t take more than the plaintiffs’ share of the recovery after legal fees and costs. |
| Right to cancel | You have five business days from signing or from getting the money, whichever comes later. |
| Disclosure rule | Six notices in large bold type sit right above your signature. Your lawyer confirms no referral fee changed hands. |
| Registration | Each funder registers with the state banking office every year. Since July 1, 2026, the contract shows the funder’s registry number. |
| Effective date | January 1, 2026. The rule letting the other side ask about funding deals began April 21, 2025. |
| As of | October 28, 2026. |
In Georgia, your funding contract is written by a litigation funder registered with the state, as Georgia law requires. No funder may steer your case or give legal advice, or report a shortfall to credit bureaus. Breaking the act voids the contract.
Do I qualify?
You can, if your claim is already before a court.
- You’ve hired a lawyer, typically on a contingency fee (your lawyer is paid only if you win).
- Your lawsuit is filed in Georgia, or a settlement agreement is in progress.
- Your case is one we fund: a mass tort (many people hurt by the same product or exposure), abuse, a job claim or a patent fight.
- The defendant can pay, such as a device maker, a nursing home chain or a large employer.
People call it a lawsuit loan. It’s a non-recourse advance, not a loan: if you lose, you owe nothing.
Filed outside Georgia? Visit the list of states we fund: what matters is the filing state, not where you live. We don’t check credit scores or ask for collateral.
How it works
1. Get in touch
Send a short application. If talking suits you better, dial 888-335-3537 instead.
2. Your lawyer weighs in
Your lawyer tells us where things stand and flags any lien (money that must be paid back from the settlement first).
3. Look over the offer
We can’t quote a price here: it depends on the amount and how long the case runs. Your written offer shows the exact total before you sign.
4. Sign and get paid
You sign it yourself, and the money follows by wire or check. Your lawyer pays us from the settlement before passing the rest to you.
Georgia Lawsuit Loans: Implants, Abuse and Job Claims
Two device cases from across the country are grouped in Atlanta’s federal court, each as an MDL (similar federal cases grouped before one judge). One is about Paragard IUDs; the other is about Physiomesh hernia mesh.
Our medical devices page handles device claims, and mesh has its own hernia mesh page. Other faulty goods go under product liability.
Does the MDL’s location matter for funding?
No. The deciding court is the one where your suit began. A Georgia case keeps its funding status after it moves. Your lawyer can tell us which court that was.
What are Georgia’s deadlines for child abuse claims?
For abuse since July 1, 2015, a survivor can sue up to age 23. Or they can sue within two years of learning the abuse caused harm. For older abuse, the limit is age 23.
A two-year lookback window (a set time when a law let old abuse claims be filed) ran from 2015 to 2017, but only for suits against abusers, not groups. Claims against a city, county or the state need written notice within six to twelve months.
We fund these suits through our sexual abuse page. Abuse in a care home is covered on our nursing home abuse page.
Which other Georgia cases do we fund?
- Harassment, firing and other job claims: employment cases.
- Patent and other idea theft fights: patent infringement.
- Injured railroad workers: FELA funding.
- Group suits over one harm: class actions.
What brings an offer down?
Claims not yet filed don’t qualify. Hefty liens, or a defendant that is low on money, can trim the amount.
So can money already advanced by another funder. All our case types are under cases we fund.
Georgia Lawsuit Loan Questions
Do funders have to register in Georgia?
Yes. Since January 1, 2026, each funder has to register with the state banking department. It must be renewed each year.
How long is the cancel period?
Five business days from the day you sign or the day you get the money, whichever is later.
Can the defense see my funding deal?
Yes. Since April 2025, Georgia lets the other side ask about a funding deal and its terms. Sharing it doesn’t make it trial evidence on its own.
Can the funder control my case?
No. Georgia bars funders from steering your case or a settlement. You can also change lawyers without a fee or penalty from the funder.
What if I lose?
You owe nothing. Georgia contracts must also say you won’t be reported to credit bureaus if the case comes up short.
Georgia Lawsuit Loans to Keep You Going
Cases against big companies can outlast your savings. Georgia lawsuit loans handle the bills while you hold firm for a fair settlement.
We fund non-recourse: if the case fails, you don’t pay us back. This is an overview of Georgia law, not legal advice. Talk it over with your lawyer.
