What America Lawsuit Loans Funds, and What We Leave to Others

We fund plaintiffs in complex litigation. That covers six kinds of cases: mass torts and MDLs, institutional abuse, class actions, commercial disputes, statutory and employment claims, and civil rights suits. The thing they share is time. A case with ten thousand plaintiffs, a defendant in bankruptcy, or a city on the other side can take three, five, or eight years to pay, and the person waiting still has rent due on the first.

An advance from us is repaid out of your settlement or award and from nowhere else. Amounts start at $500 and reach $250,000+, scaled to what your claim should net. Your credit and job history are never reviewed, and your attorney stays in charge of the case.

Everyday injury claims such as car accidents, slip and fall and medical malpractice are funded by our sister brand, ECO Pre-Settlement Funding. If a general personal injury lawyer is handling your matter, that is the right door. If your case appears below, this is.

Mass Tort and MDL Cases

One product or one company, thousands of injured people, and a single federal judge managing the pretrial work. That is an MDL, and it is slow by design: bellwether trials first, global settlement talks after, then a claims process that scores each person individually. Our mass tort lawsuit loans page explains how we fund plaintiffs at each of those stages, including the long gap between a settlement announcement and the first check.

Talcum Powder Lawsuit Loans

Ovarian cancer and mesothelioma plaintiffs suing Johnson & Johnson, whose bankruptcy attempts have repeatedly stalled payment.

Roundup Lawsuit Loans

Glyphosate users diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma, suing Bayer’s Monsanto unit in the federal MDL or in state court.

Hernia Mesh Lawsuit Loans

Patients who needed revision surgery after a Bard, Ethicon, or Covidien mesh failed.

Zantac Lawsuit Loans

Ranitidine cancer claims, with the bulk of the remaining cases in Delaware Superior Court.

Truvada Lawsuit Loans

Kidney damage and bone loss tied to Gilead’s TDF-based HIV drugs.

Wildfire Lawsuit Loans

Fire survivors with a claim against a utility, including owners, renters, and small businesses.

Mesothelioma Lawsuit Loans

Asbestos disease claims filed in court or submitted to a manufacturer’s bankruptcy trust.

Faulty Medical Device Lawsuit Loans

Implants and devices that broke, migrated, or had to come out. Also covers Essure, Mirena, IVC filters, and pelvic mesh.

Defective Drug Lawsuit Loans

Medications with active litigation, whether prescribed or bought off the shelf. Also covers Nexium, Elmiron, and paraquat.

Product Liability Lawsuit Loans

A dangerous product and a manufacturer on the other side, even if yours is the only case.

Institutional Abuse Cases

These claims are brought against the organization that allowed the abuse: a diocese, a scouting council, a county, a state agency, a care home. Lookback laws have reopened decades-old cases, and many defendants answered by filing for bankruptcy, which freezes everything while a trust is negotiated. Survivors wait years. Every file here is handled privately, and our sexual abuse lawsuit loans page covers how confidentiality works.

Clergy Abuse Lawsuit Loans for Survivors

Claims against dioceses and religious orders, many of them now inside a bankruptcy plan.

Boy Scouts (BSA) Lawsuit Loans

Survivors with a claim in the Scouting Settlement Trust who are waiting on a matrix award or an independent review.

MacLaren Hall Lawsuit Loans

Former residents of the Los Angeles County children’s shelter covered by the county’s 2025 settlement.

Los Padrinos Juvenile Detention Lawsuit Loans

People abused as minors at the Downey juvenile hall, filed under California’s AB 218 window.

Camp Scott Lawsuit Loans

Women and girls abused at the Los Angeles County probation camp in Santa Clarita.

YDC Lawsuit Loans

Former residents of New Hampshire’s Youth Development Center, in court or in the state settlement fund.

New Jersey Detention Center Lawsuit Loans

Survivors of abuse at the New Jersey Training School and other state juvenile facilities.

Maryland Detention Center Lawsuit Loans

Claims against Maryland juvenile facilities brought under the Child Victims Act of 2023.

Nursing Home Abuse Lawsuit Loans

Residents and families suing a facility or chain over a pattern of abuse or neglect.

Class Action Cases

A class action is one lawsuit on behalf of everyone harmed the same way: a data breach, a defective vehicle part, an unlawful fee. Class members usually cannot speed anything up, and a settlement still needs preliminary approval, notice, a fairness hearing, and sometimes an appeal before money moves. Named plaintiffs and class members with a documented, sizable claim are the people we can help.

Class Action Lawsuit Loans

Named plaintiffs and class members with a provable claim, before or after the settlement is approved.

Commercial Litigation

When the plaintiff is a business, the lawsuit competes with payroll for the same cash. Funding lets a company keep operating, or keep its lawyers paid, while a claim against a larger opponent runs its course. Repayment comes only from the recovery. Amounts here are often above our consumer range and are underwritten one case at a time. Start with commercial litigation funding.

Breach of Contract Lawsuit Loans

A supplier, partner, or customer who did not perform, and damages you can document.

Patent Infringement Litigation Funding

Patent owners enforcing against a better-funded infringer, from filing through any review at the patent office.

Qui Tam Lawsuit Funding

False Claims Act whistleblowers waiting, often for years under seal, on the government’s decision to intervene.

Statutory and Employment Claims

Congress or a state legislature wrote the rules for these claims, and specialist firms bring them. Most begin with an agency, such as the EEOC or a state labor board, before a court ever sees them. Two of them, FELA and the Jones Act, replace workers’ compensation for railroad and maritime workers. The overview is on our employment lawsuit loans page.

Wrongful Termination Lawsuit Loans

Retaliation, whistleblower, and protected-leave firings, where income stops the day the claim begins.

Labor Lawsuit Funding

Wage theft, unpaid overtime, and misclassification, including workers who joined an FLSA collective action.

Racial Discrimination Lawsuit Loans

Title VII and Section 1981 plaintiffs who have their right-to-sue letter or are already in court.

FELA Lawsuit Loans for Railroad Workers

Conductors, engineers, and track workers suing their railroad for an on-the-job injury.

Jones Act Lawsuit Loans

Injured seamen whose maintenance and cure payments do not cover life on shore.

Civil Rights Cases

The defendant is a government: a police department, a jail, a prosecutor’s office. Expect immunity motions, an appeal before trial, and a city council vote before any settlement is paid. Few plaintiffs can carry that on their own, particularly someone just released from custody. Our civil rights lawsuit loans page lists the documents your attorney will be asked for.

Police Brutality Lawsuit Loans

Excessive force and in-custody injury suits under Section 1983.

Wrongful Imprisonment Lawsuit Loans

Exonerees with a state compensation claim, a federal civil rights suit, or both.

Don’t See Your Case?

Complex cases that are not listed get an individual review, so send us the details and expect a plain yes or no. Injury claims from a single accident belong with our sister brand, ECO Pre-Settlement Funding.

Questions About What We Fund

What counts as complex litigation?

A case a general personal injury firm would not usually take on a standard contingency fee. In practice that means claims with many plaintiffs against one company, claims against an institution for abuse, claims created by a specific statute, business disputes, and class actions. If yours is a single accident with one insurer on the other side, it is an injury claim, and our sister brand handles those.

Is funding available when my case sits in an MDL?

Yes, and most of our mass tort clients are. We need your attorney to confirm that your case is filed or tolled, which product or defendant is involved, and the injury your records support. Where the MDL stands matters too. A litigation with a settlement framework in place supports a larger advance than one still fighting over expert testimony.

Do you fund class members before the settlement is approved?

Sometimes. Named plaintiffs and class members with a large, documented individual claim can qualify before final approval. If your share would be a small automatic payment, the amount is usually too low to fund, and you are better off waiting for the check.

What if my case type is not listed on this page?

Apply anyway if it is complex litigation. New torts appear every year, and we review unlisted cases one at a time. Tell us the defendant, the court, and your attorney’s name, and you will get a straight answer on whether we can help.

How fast is a decision?

In most files, the day after your lawyer’s paperwork reaches us. Mass tort files often move faster, because much of what we need is already on the public docket. Funds go out after you and your attorney sign.

Found Your Case? The Application Takes Five Minutes.

Give us your name, your attorney, and the litigation you are part of. We do the rest with your law firm and come back with a written offer. Lose your case and the advance is forgiven.

Funding from America Lawsuit Loans is non-recourse: we buy a share of a possible future recovery, which makes it something other than a loan. Listing a litigation on this page does not mean every claimant in it will be approved, and approval depends on a review of the individual file with the claimant’s attorney. Company and product names identify defendants in public litigation and imply no affiliation. This page gives no legal advice.
